Lydia Arranzamendez, Executive Director

Lived in Metro Manila, Philippines before she migrated to the San Francisco Bay Area in the United States. She saw the dire need of Filipinos caught in the vicious cycle of poverty and corruption. She strongly believes that education and skills training for employment can provide opportunities for those who desire a better life for themselves and their
families.



 

She created strategic alliances with fellow volunteers whom she met while helping organize after school Good News Clubs (Child Evangelism Fellowship) in the USA and members of San Francisco, California based Sister 2 Sister that started in Zimbabwe, a non-denominational international movement of Christian women from different countries who want to positively impact the world. They partner with Christian pastors and their respective teams in developing countries in Asia and Africa to provide scholarships and training skills for employment while at the same time feeding the underprivileged youth, adults and their children with physical and spiritual nourishment.

Lydia holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree with focus on Management from De La Salle University Manila. She also has a Certificate to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) from the First Baptist Church of Owasso, Oklahoma.

She has worked as a Project Accountant, Accounting Consultant for Robert Half International, Financial Analyst and Finance Administrator for both private and government entities.

Sylvia Allieu, Board Member


Sylvia Allieu was born and grew up in Sierra Leone before she came to the United States where she worked for many years in Human Services in different capacities.


 

She has worked with both adults and children in Santa Clara County, California. She also worked as a Family Services Caseworker in Baltimore, Maryland where she worked primarily with children and families.

Sylvia has a Masters Degree in Social Work with emphasis in Community Mental Health from California State University East Bay Hayward. She also has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with focus on Human Resource Management from San Jose State University.

Her passion is to empower and support the vulnerable especially families with children and single women to be able to provide for their children’s education, farming and other needs.

Ester Mok - Board Member

Esther Mok is a retired public school teacher from the San Francisco Unified School District where she taught elementary, middle school and high school including Chinese bilingual and English as a Second Language classes for a total of 27 years.

Ester also writes poems and books for children. She has two published books, The Wrestling Elephant and Gossip Queen.

 

Esther is very passionate about helping children through afterschool programs. The first afterschool Good News Club of the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) in a San Francisco public school started in her first grade classroom in 2011.

In her retirement, she continues to help students as a volunteer tutor. She has a Master of Arts in Communications and Theater Arts from the University of Iowa where she was the Founder and Director of the International Christian Club.

She also has a California Clear Teaching Credential from the San Francisco State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Biology from the University of Malaya, Malaysia.
 
Joyce Lunyolo Musunga, Board Member



 

Evangelist Joyce Lunyolo Musungu is the founder and President of the Women of Valor in Nairobi, Kenya. This ministry was started in 2004. Its main aim is to empower and equip women for ministry. It networks with other churches and ministries where they hold monthly workshops, prayers, seminars and conferences. 

Joyce also worked with the Kenyan Government in the ministry of Lands and Settlement for 22 years, (1984-2006). She was a support staff and provided administrative services to the office. She offered in-house support and front office management. It is from here that she voluntarily retired to join the Women of Valor Ministry. 

Lina Mudzumwe - Board Member

Lina Mudzumwe, a Zimbabwean fashion virtuoso currently based in Pretoria, South Africa, is not just a designer but a transformative force. With a wealth of experience crafting stunning pieces from diverse fabrics, she epitomises excellence in the fashion realm.
Beyond her design prowess, Lina's commitment to empowering women is truly commendable. Through her selfless initiative, offering free dressmaking lessons to women and young girls, she has become a beacon of inspiration. Her impact resonates in the
community, positioning her as a revered figure among women.

In addition to her creative endeavors, Lina is an ordained deaconess, manifesting a profound calling in intercession and deliverance. Her unwavering dedication to standing in the gap
through prayer has drawn many to seek spiritual guidance, further solidifying her influence.

In a world saturated with talent, Lina Mudzumwe's unique blend of design mastery, philanthropy, and spiritual leadership sets her apart, making her a standout figure ready to captivate and inspire.

 
 
Cristina Ugaki, Board Member

Cristina Ugaki is an experienced Senior Accountant and Supervisor from San Francisco, California.



 

She has supported private corporations and non profits. She worked for 11 years at the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation in San Francisco where she helped the Foundation earn high marks in annual audits for compliance in annual audit schedule preparations, grant allocations and projections.

She has a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Saint Joseph’s College, Manila.

Cristina was born in the Philippines and spent most of her growing up years in Hong Kong before migrating to the United States.

In her spare time, she loves traveling with her family. She has been to different countries all over the world where she saw both luxury and poverty. She has a heart for dedicating her time and effort in helping the less fortunate in different parts of the globe.
